Of Sweet somethings - SO FUN FROZEN YOGURT

It is said that the best way to end the day is on a sweet note. I could not but agree to this statement after my visit to the So Fun Frozen Yoghurt parlor. With its variety of waffle bases, toppings and creamy “Froghurt” in interesting flavors; the parlor decked up in a pink-green-and-white color scheme brings out the child in you! Customers get to choose from a host of exotic flavors like Red Velvet, New York Cheesecake, Cake batter, Macadamia Nut, Butter Pecan, Espresso, Fruit Sorbets and many more!
The new entrant in the Froghurt business; currently located in Wayne and Easton only; gives the customer the joy of customizing their desert and bills them by the weight. They also provide gift cards and membership IDs, enabling members and special customers to enjoy benefits & discounts. This reasonable method of billing & value-adding services explains the initial sight of So Fun Frozen Yoghurt’s parlor bustling with business.
Although their heating is a little too low for comfort and the music blares way too loudly, the frozen yoghurt joint has a special play area for toddlers and provides strong Wifi connectivity. Calorie-conscious customers have a reason to indulge without guilt - So Fun Frozen Yoghurt has been certified with a seal of approval from the National Yoghurt Association. Their great tasting, gluten-free, low-fat frozen yoghurt is rich in flavor and contains the goodness of calcium & protein.
Despite their tiny glitches, So Fun Frozen Yoghurt would definitely feature in my list of “The Best Desert Joints” just for their exotic flavors, perky interiors, and friendly staff. Indeed, my day ended/weekend began on a really sweet & happy note!

Azulia at its best!

A Gastronomically Greek Affair!

Azulia; the premier Mediterranean-cuisine restaurant at GRT Grand on G. N. Chetty Road; recently hosted a Greek food festival till the 10th of November 2011.At the entrance, what could be a more befitting way to be greeted other than in Greek robes & vine-crowns; and have this moment captured on camera! This fine-dining haunt also specializes in Turkish, Lebanese, Italian and French cuisine! With a menu card the size of a Coffee-table book, Azulia’s food fare boasts of a host of exotic drinks, dishes & desserts!

As part of their special Greek food festival a Chef’s special 4-course meal; comprising soup/salad, 3 vegetarian cold starters, 3 non-vegetarian starters, main-course and dessert; offered at a tariff of Rs.1100 per head. This menu is carefully chosen to offer the best of Greek cuisine for both a discerning meat-lover and vegan.

Though the tariff for the meal may sound slightly more on the expensive side, the fare is absolutely worth its money! The salad was crunchy, fresh & juicy and the main-course satisfying. But the Greek god of cuisine of the night was undoubtedly the dessert – The Turkish Baklava in three differentl flavors! Sinfully fluffy and oozing with honey; one of the baklavas resembled a long-lost cousin of our very own soan paapdi! Many diners might, however, take time to adjust to the restaurant’s background score as it is literally Greek and Latin! Nevertheless, this lavish restaurant, with its artistically royal interiors, great ambiance, unique cutlery, live-kitchen and friendly hosts makes your meal a holistic and complete dining experience!

Cream & Fudge : A whole new definition to “quality Ice Cream”

Cream & Fudge : A whole new definition to “quality Ice Cream

Located opposite the Evoluzione Botique on Chennai’s fashion-capital lane Khader Nawaz Khan Road (knk rd) in Nungambakkam, “Cream & Fudge” is the new-kid-on-the-block when it comes to premium Ice Cream parlors in the city.this place brings out the child in you with its variety of ice cream flavors, toppings and other things nice! This new entrant, dealing primarily in cold-stone ice cream and ‘froghurt’ (i.e. frozen yoghurt) in unusual flavors, also operate in other Asian countries (Malaysia, Thailand etc to name a few).

What makes Cream & Fudge stand apart from other premium parlors, you may ask?! Well, for startersit is the only parlor in the city after the historic Dasaprakash, to serve THE combination of all times – Peach Melba! Allthough loyal Dasaprakash enthusiasts may not agree, Cream & Fudge’s version of the Peach Melba is equally lip-smacking! This haunt also provides you the option of experimenting and customizing your ice cream!
Need more excuses to go? Well, this place offers THE most sinful combinations and sundaes in town, like The Chocolate Truffle Sensation, Strawberry Shortcake, Choco-strawberry duet, Apple Crumble, Rocky Road etc.

However, customers may find the prices slightly higher than compared to other premium parlours in the city. A medium-sundae combination for a family of three would amount to approximately Rs535.
Also, customers would have to be prepared to wait quite a while before they receive their delivery as these people are slightly short-staffed.

So, if you are prepared to spend that extra rupee and wait that extra minute, then… I guarantee you-
